Flint Springs Principal Earns YMCA Coach of the Year

Huntington, IN - Flint Springs Elementary Principal Bre Dyer has been recognized as the 2024 YMCA Coach of the Year for her outstanding contributions to youth basketball at the Huntington YMCA. Mrs. Dyer, who volunteered her time this season to coach the Celtics, has been celebrated for her dedication, passion, and the positive impact she has made on her players.

Shanon Spaulding, the YMCA Interim Sports Director, commended Mrs. Dyer's leadership during the award announcement, saying, “This season, we’ve been fortunate to have some amazing coaches who have dedicated their time, energy, and heart to guiding our players. The Coach of the Year Award recognizes a coach who has gone above and beyond in their coaching season.

“Our coach for this season has shown incredible passion, patience, and leadership, teaching their team not just the skills of the game but also the values of teamwork, respect, and determination. They may have not won many games, but through it all carried a positive attitude and limitless growth within the students. Please join me in congratulating Bre Dyer on an outstanding first season coaching her team, the Celtics.”

Mrs. Dyer’s commitment to fostering growth and sportsmanship among her players reflects her dedication to shaping young minds both on and off the court.
